Associate Programme Officer – Sector & Enterprise Competitiveness

About the role

The International Trade Centre (ITC) is seeking an Associate Programme Officer to support the Sector and Enterprise Competitiveness Section (SEC) within the Division of Enterprise Competitiveness and Institutions (DECI). The role focuses on manufacturing programmes that help small businesses in the Global South improve market access and competitiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Work with key clients to facilitate development, implementation and evaluation of assigned programmes and projects, monitoring progress and recommending corrective actions.
• Conduct basic research, collect and analyse statistical data from diverse sources, and present findings.
• Provide substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation, including reviewing emerging issues and participating in research activities.
• Assist in consulting assignments by planning and facilitating workshops, interactive sessions and developing client action plans.
• Participate in survey initiatives, design data‑collection tools, analyse responses and prepare preliminary conclusions.
• Contribute to written outputs such as background papers, analytical notes, report sections and inputs to publications.
• Support consultative meetings and conferences by preparing agendas, background documents, presentations and handling logistics.
• Undertake outreach activities, develop training workshops, deliver presentations and join field missions.

Required profile

• Experience in facilitating the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes or projects.
• Ability to conduct basic research, analyse statistical data and produce clear written outputs.
• Strong coordination skills for working with clients, partners and internal teams.
