Automation Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to support MES automation and recipe development in a leading biopharmaceutical manufacturing site in Visp, Switzerland. The role spans design, start‑up, qualification and production phases, ensuring compliant and efficient execution of manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Align product and production requirements with project teams and design manufacturing recipes under change‑control.
• Support design, commissioning, start‑up, qualification and ongoing production activities.
• Develop and maintain cGMP‑compliant documentation such as electronic batch records (eBRs), SOPs and operating procedures.
• Ensure adherence to safety, hygiene, environmental and quality standards.
• Continuously improve automation procedures and troubleshoot MES and recipe‑related issues during operation.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, engineering, validation and quality teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3‑5 years of hands‑on recipe authoring experience with Emerson Syncade.
• Strong troubleshooting experience in MES environments.
• Process engineering experience in biopharma manufacturing.
• Fluent English communication skills.
