Backend Engineer

About the role

We are a VC‑funded Swiss startup building generative‑AI tools for fashion content creation. As a Backend Engineer you will own critical backend domains end‑to‑end, delivering high‑throughput services that power our AI generation pipeline and customer integrations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core backend services (APIs, data models, business logic) that drive the main product.
• Build and evolve customer integration backbones, including export pipelines, transport adapters, and automation workflows.
• Architect the AI generation pipeline with robust job lifecycle management, retry/failure semantics, and clear service contracts.
• Contribute to data engineering efforts: production data flows, usage analytics, and the internal data platform.
• Participate in platform and security work, covering DevOps/SRE duties (CI/CD, deployments, observability) and targeted security projects (auth flows, secret management).

Required profile

• Senior‑level backend professional comfortable with deep architectural challenges.
• Proven ability to own a backend domain and deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Experience working in fast‑moving, VC‑backed startup environments.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to collaborate across product, AI, and data teams.
