Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

We are a VC‑funded Swiss startup building AI‑driven tools for fashion content creation. As a Senior Backend Engineer you will own critical backend domains, shape the architecture of our AI generation pipeline, and help scale the platform to handle tens of thousands of high‑fidelity generations each day.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement core product backend services, including APIs, data models and business logic.
• Develop and maintain customer integration backbones, export pipelines and automation adapters.
• Architect the AI generation pipeline with robust job lifecycle, retry semantics and clear service boundaries.
• Contribute to data engineering efforts, building production data flows and usage analytics.
• Participate in DevOps/SRE rotation, handling CI/CD, deployments and observability.
• Lead targeted security projects such as authentication flows, secret management and dependency hygiene.

Required profile

• Several years of experience building and scaling backend systems in a fast‑moving startup environment.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, micro‑services and data modeling.
• Comfortable working on both platform and security aspects of a product.
• Ability to take ownership of end‑to‑end domains and deliver high‑throughput solutions.
