Backend Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to design and build scalable backend services for our digital products. The role is fully remote and contract‑based, offering the chance to work with a high‑performing engineering team on challenging problems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high‑performance backend services and APIs.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and robust solutions.
• Optimize systems for reliability, security and efficiency.
• Write clean, well‑documented, tested code following engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve production issues, focusing on root‑cause analysis.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and propose innovative solutions.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong ability to work independently in a fully remote, fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Modern backend programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, Node.js).
• Design and implementation of RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Relational and NoSQL databases with data modeling.
• System security, authentication and authorization best practices.
• Cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Event‑driven or serverless architectures (preferred).
• CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks (preferred).
