Baremetal & Linux/KVM Engineer – Winterthur, Switzerland

About the role

We are seeking a Baremetal & Linux/KVM Engineer to provide day‑2 operations support for server infrastructure, Linux operating systems, and KVM‑based virtualization environments. The role focuses on maintaining stable and secure compute services through proactive operations, troubleshooting, lifecycle management, patching, and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and support Linux server environments and KVM‑based virtualization platforms.
• Perform day‑2 operational activities such as system maintenance, patching, health checks, and performance monitoring.
• Manage server hardware lifecycle for Dell PowerEdge and Lenovo ThinkSystem platforms.
• Coordinate firmware updates, OS maintenance, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Troubleshoot issues across physical and virtual compute infrastructure.
• Support operational automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in incident management, problem resolution, service reviews, and change implementation.
• Maintain documentation, standards, and governance processes to ensure service stability.

Required profile

• Experience supporting Linux‑based enterprise environments and virtualized infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of Linux administration, server hardware, and KVM virtualization technologies.
• German language proficiency at minimum B2 level.
• Swiss citizenship required.
