Business Controller – Finance (80‑100%)

About the role

WSP is seeking a Business Controller to join its Finance department in Zurich or Luzern. Reporting to the Finance Director – Business Operations, you will act as a business partner for unit managers, supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis across complex engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with business unit heads and controller team to prepare and present financial reports in English (and German/French where possible).
• Lead the budget process, monitor actuals, and analyse economic and financial data for units and projects.
• Identify corrective actions, track implementation and report outcomes to senior management.
• Develop and maintain analytical tools to aid decision‑making for the Finance Director.
• Support the rollout and optimisation of the new ERP system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Controlling or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of finance experience in a project‑driven environment.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial analysis.
• Fluent in German (or Swiss German) and English; good command of French is a plus.
• Proactive, analytical mindset with ability to work in a fast‑paced, international setting.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and financial modelling.
• Power BI.
• Financial reporting tools such as Hyperion, Dynamics 365 or Oracle.
