Business Development Director – Commercial

About the role

Clearspace is seeking a senior Business Development Director to grow its commercial pipeline across the group. You will sell to satellite operators, insurers, in‑orbit servicing customers and other private space companies, shaping proposals and securing new revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and track commercial opportunities from satellite operators, insurers and in‑orbit servicing customers, and match them with suitable future products and services.
• Maintain a database of the commercial pipeline, support project prioritisation and feed insights into service and capability strategy.
• Lead capture management and ensure coherent commercial captures across Clearspace entities.
• Manage and coordinate proposal production and bids from opportunity identification through submission and contract close, working with engineering, finance and partner teams.
• Own account management for commercial satellite operators, space insurers and in‑orbit servicing customers, negotiating agreements and pricing structures.

Required profile

• Significant experience in commercial sales or business development within the space industry, preferably with direct sales to satellite operators, insurers or in‑orbit servicing customers.
• Excellent understanding of the commercial space ecosystem, including satellite operators, space insurance and active debris removal.
• Strong commercial awareness with proven pricing, margin and risk management capabilities.
• Outstanding interpersonal, organisational and communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
