Business Risk Unit Analyst (Onboarding)

About the role

The Business Risk Unit Analyst (Onboarding) will support the Business Risk Unit team at Banco Santander International S.A. in Geneva. This temporary, one‑year position focuses on KYC/AML reviews and client onboarding for low‑ and medium‑risk accounts across Latin America and EMEA.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse documentation for new account openings and changes for individuals, companies, foundations and trusts.
• Collaborate with Front Office to ensure compliance with internal policies, Swiss regulations (e.g., CDB 20) and tax rules (FATCA, CRS).
• Perform client due‑diligence (CDD) checks and periodic KYC/AML reviews for low‑ and medium‑risk accounts.
• Support audit fieldwork, prepare files and respond to auditor queries.
• Assist in ongoing projects, process improvements and cross‑functional initiatives with Legal, Compliance and AD teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• 5–7 years of experience in banking or financial services, specifically in client onboarding, account opening and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of banking, regulatory, legal and compliance processes.
• High level of discretion, trustworthiness and problem‑solving mindset.
• Proactive, adaptable team player with a "can‑do" attitude.
