Business Unit Control Internship (100%)

About the role

BBVA, a Spanish bank with its Swiss offices in Zurich, offers a full-time internship in its Business Unit Control (BCU) department. The main focus is developing solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem and using AI tools to improve BCU's existing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize automation opportunities by reviewing manual processes and redesigning them where necessary.
• Automate recurring files and monitoring processes, reducing manual consolidation, updating, reconciliation and tracking.
• Develop scalable dashboards and reporting solutions, structuring data sources and automating KPI generation and visualizations.
• Automate the preparation of management presentations, including data updates.
• Develop AI use cases for analysis and reporting, mainly with Microsoft ecosystem tools.
• Document processes, controls and maintenance procedures, and transfer knowledge to the team before the end of the assignment.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand business processes and turn them into simple, efficient, scalable solutions.
• Proactive, curious and oriented toward continuous improvement.
• Ability to document solutions and explain them to non-technical users.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and data management and analysis.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft tools, especially Power BI, Power Query and/or Power Automate.
• Interest and practical experience with generative AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot / Copilot Studio.
• Knowledge of Python, SQL or Power Apps is an advantage but not essential.
