C++ Software Developer – Medical Device R&D

About the role

Medacta is looking for a C++ Software Developer to join its R&D team that creates pre‑operative planning software for orthopaedic surgeries. You will work on a desktop application that supports surgical planning and 3‑D graphics.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain C++ applications for medical device functionality and surgical planning tools.
• Collaborate with regulatory, marketing and project management teams to ensure compliance with IEC 62304 and other industry standards.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and contribute to risk analysis and usability assessments.
• Provide technical support during clinical evaluations and continuously integrate updates to libraries and technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Experience in medical device software development and familiarity with regulatory requirements.
• Strong planning, execution and communication skills, with a passion for clean, efficient code.

Required skills

• C++ programming, Qt framework, CMake build system.
• 3D rendering, VTK, ITK, linear algebra (reference systems, transformation matrices).
• Version control with Git, containerization with Docker.
• QML for responsive user interfaces.
