Canteen Assistant (Part‑time)

About the role

Mosaic School, part of the International Schools Partnership, is looking for a part‑time Canteen Assistant to support the lunch service. The role involves supervising children aged 3‑12 during lunch and playtime, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise groups of children aged 3 to 12 during lunch breaks in a caring and exemplary manner.
• Ensure children eat in a calm and friendly atmosphere and follow canteen rules.
• Oversee children at mealtimes and during playtime, safeguarding their wellbeing and enforcing safety instructions.
• Maintain safety of children under the authority of the Canteen Manager and enable them to eat in the best possible conditions.
• Lead educational activities during recess and promote curiosity about the meals on the menu.
• Participate in the implementation of educational projects aligned with the school’s overall mission.

Required profile

• Diploma in animation or childhood preferred, or proven experience in children’s activities and school group supervision.
• Calm, caring, exemplary attitude with strong punctuality and time‑management skills.
• Appropriate dress and vocabulary for interacting with children.
• Team‑oriented mindset, respecting duty of discretion and able to listen and observe responsibly.
• Knowledge of safety instructions, emergency procedures and ability to enforce internal and canteen rules.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, teachers and management.
• Enthusiastic, motivated, dynamic, adaptable, patient and responsible.
