Category Manager – Healthcare Procurement

About the role

We are seeking a Category Manager to join a leading international healthcare organization in Bern. The role is based in an office within the strategic procurement function and will have a direct impact on sourcing pharmaceutical products worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Support strategic sourcing initiatives for a portfolio of generic pharmaceutical products.
• Assist with supplier negotiations, contract management and commercial programmes to achieve cost savings.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers to ensure service quality and supply continuity.
• Support competitive tender processes, pricing analysis and market intelligence activities.
• Collaborate with finance and cross‑functional teams to resolve supplier and commercial issues.
• Contribute to category planning, reporting and strategic projects across the procurement function.

Required profile

• Degree qualified with experience in procurement, category management, supply chain or the pharmaceutical industry.
• Understanding of sourcing in a pharmaceutical or healthcare environment.
• Commercially minded with experience supporting supplier negotiations and contract management.
• Strong analytical abilities and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English and willing to travel internationally on occasion.
