Chief Data Officer

About the role

A high‑impact Chief Data Officer opportunity is available within an international organization undergoing a multi‑year data, analytics, and AI transformation. The role will define and run the central data function, ensuring data is trusted, secure, and leveraged as a strategic asset.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve the enterprise data strategy to drive value, innovation, and better decisions.
• Establish governance, stewardship, quality, and AI governance frameworks that meet regulatory, privacy, security, and industry requirements.
• Lead multiple data teams (architecture, engineering, analytics, data science, MDM, metadata, quality, operations) and define the operating model.
• Stay hands‑on with data architecture choices, governance design, platform direction, and critical delivery moments.
• Oversee enterprise data platforms, pipelines, warehouses/lakes, integration services, reporting, BI, and advanced analytics at scale.
• Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Technology, and Business leaders, representing data at senior level and external forums.

Required profile

• 15+ years across data disciplines with a proven record of running an enterprise‑wide data function in regulated or complex environments.
• Leadership style that builds capable, accountable leaders and fosters a high‑performance, collaborative culture.
• Hands‑on credibility: reviews architectures, governance models, and key designs.
• Deep understanding of data governance, compliance, privacy, and security while balancing speed and agility.
• Strong business and commercial acumen, experienced in managing budgets, vendors, and strategic partnerships.
• Fluent English and continuous learning mindset, pragmatic about AI and new technologies.
