Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Renewable Energy

About the role

A renewable energy company is looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead its finance function and help shape its next stage of growth. As part of the leadership team, the CFO works closely with the CEO, management and the Board on financial strategy, project financing, profitability and investment decisions, while building the finance team and the financial infrastructure needed to scale the business.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead financial strategy, aligning planning, capital allocation and risk management with growth and investment goals
• Own finance, controlling, treasury, tax and management reporting, including monthly closing and reconciliation of commercial and statutory results
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning, analysing P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, costs, overheads and liquidity
• Evaluate renewable energy projects and investments, building financial models, business cases and scenario analyses
• Lead project finance and debt financing, including documentation, negotiations and coordination with banks and lenders
• Advise on financing strategy, M&A, joint ventures, partnerships and strategic investments
• Manage pricing, profitability, intercompany agreements and transfer pricing with tax and legal advisers
• Strengthen financial governance, internal controls and finance systems

Required profile

• 7+ years of relevant finance experience, including senior responsibility as Finance Director, Head of Finance or similar
• Experience in renewable energy, energy infrastructure, EPC, utilities, cleantech or another project-driven industry
• Fluent German and English

• Project finance, debt financing, capital raising and financial modelling
• Budgeting, forecasting, cash management, controlling and reporting
• Experience working with banks, investors, Boards and auditors
