Senior Credit Risk Manager

About the role

Glencore is seeking a highly skilled Senior Credit Risk Manager to lead credit risk management for its Metals and Coal portfolio across EMEA. The role is based at the headquarters in Baar, Switzerland and focuses on complex transactions, high‑risk counterparties and strategic exposures.

Key responsibilities

• Actively manage an assigned portfolio of metal counterparties and define credit risk appetite in collaboration with front‑office and underwriting teams.
• Prepare credit reviews, monitor breach levels, and ensure compliance with risk thresholds.
• Conduct detailed credit analyses on high‑risk and new counterparties, reviewing contracts, collateral and security instruments.
• Present risk reports to senior management, advise on recovery options and mentor junior analysts.
• Lead or support risk‑related projects and contribute to methodology enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field.
• 10‑15 years of corporate credit risk experience in a global commodity business, preferably metals and mining.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organisational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, self‑motivated and team‑oriented.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of security instruments such as guarantees, letters of credit, ISDA agreements and netting.
• Quantitative credit metrics expertise (PFE, ECL, LGD).
• Solid financial analysis capabilities.
