CISO / Head of IT Security – Full-time Hybrid

About the role

Ikerian AG (formerly RetinAI Medical), a fast-growing medical device software company based in Bern, Switzerland, is looking for a CISO / Head of IT Security to lead its security strategy and internal IT operations. The role safeguards digital assets and data privacy and bridges technical security with the strategic needs of a growing global team. It is a full-time hybrid position.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the company-wide information security strategy and roadmap.
• Oversee IT infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability and security across all systems.
• Lead compliance efforts for standards such as ISO 27001, SOC2, HIPAA and GDPR.
• Manage risk assessments, vulnerability testing and incident response protocols.
• Supervise procurement and management of hardware and software for a distributed workforce.
• Foster a security-aware culture through continuous training and policy development.

Required profile

• 8 years of experience in a similar position (finance sector start search).
• Demonstrated entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset.
• University degree in Computer Science, Information Security or a related field; CISSP or CISM preferred.
• Significant experience in information security and IT leadership, ideally in healthcare or finance.
• Proven ability to manage complex IT projects and data privacy initiatives.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
