Cloud Infrastructure Architect

About the role

Avaloq, a Swiss wealth management technology provider, is hiring a Cloud Infrastructure Architect for its Cloud & Infrastructure Delivery Architecture team. The role shapes the modular, cloud-native banking platform and contributes to the design, development and deployment of the Avaloq Banking Solution SaaS offering on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), ensuring scalability, reliability and automation. The team acts as the main architectural link between clients, delivery execution and central architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end infrastructure and cloud solution designs for Avaloq SaaS on OCI
• Support Cloud Engineers and Developers so that solutions are deployable, scalable and operationally sustainable
• Work with internal teams and clients to deliver tailored cloud solutions aligned with strategic goals
• Provide expert guidance on cloud architecture and DevOps practices
• Contribute to cost optimization and implementation approaches
• Troubleshoot complex issues and drive continuous improvement in system performance and reliability

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or in a similar role
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and abstraction skills
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Proactive, team-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation

Required skills

• Strong expertise in DevOps methodologies and Git-based project workflows
• Solid understanding of cloud-native architectures, including Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE), Oracle Exadata, Oracle RAC, container orchestration and enterprise deployment strategies
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is essential; experience with AWS, Azure or GCP is a plus
• Proficiency with Terraform and Ansible is strongly preferred
• OCI Certified Solution Architect preferred; additional AWS, Azure or GCP certifications are advantageous
• Knowledge of cloud governance, landing zones, multi-region architectures, business continuity and cloud security is a plus
• Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK/OpenSearch or Splunk is a plus
