Cloud Native Platform Engineer

About the role

Ready to shape the next generation of Mobile Core platforms at Swisscom? As a Cloud Native Platform Engineer you will own the operation and evolution of our business‑critical Mobile Core platform, driving the shift to modern cloud‑native solutions built on Kubernetes, GitOps and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, automate and continuously evolve the Swisscom Mobile Core platform.
• Design and implement modern platform solutions using Kubernetes, GitOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot complex incidents, deliver sustainable fixes and improve system resilience.
• Drive automation and continuous improvement to reduce operational overhead.
• Collaborate closely with internal cross‑functional teams and external vendors.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Linux‑based platforms and services.
• Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes; CKA certification is a plus.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts such as IP, DNS, routing and switching.
• Ability to create declarative automation with IaC tools (e.g., Ansible) and develop custom scripts in Python or Go.
• Ownership mindset, solution‑oriented attitude and passion for continuous learning.
