Cloud Platform Automation Engineer

About the role

Sonar is building the backbone of AI‑driven software development and needs a senior engineer to automate and enhance its software development lifecycle. You will work across multiple global offices, focusing on secure, reliable AWS foundations and AI‑enabled platform tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve secure AWS foundations using reusable infrastructure‑as‑code, automated pipelines and tested change controls.
• Develop pragmatic tooling, integrations and glue code to solve operational problems and increase self‑service for internal customers.
• Implement AI‑enabled automation for infrastructure delivery, triage, knowledge retrieval and self‑service while ensuring security and governance.
• Define and improve monitoring, alerting, dashboards, runbooks, SLIs/SLOs, capacity planning and service‑health reporting.
• Design, architect and operate secure cloud controls such as least‑privilege access, policy‑as‑code, secrets management and automated evidence collection.
• Participate in on‑call incident response, root‑cause analysis and preventative engineering.
• Lead resilience engineering activities including FMEAs, recovery exercises and translating findings into funded actions.
• Provide technical leadership through lightweight designs, standards, code reviews and mentorship.

Required profile

• 8+ years of hands‑on experience in cloud, platform, SRE or DevOps engineering within SaaS or complex enterprise environments.
• Strong AWS expertise covering networking, IAM, DNS, logging, compute, storage and multi‑account design.
• Deep experience with infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as AWS CDK, Terraform or CloudFormation, including reusable modules and CI/CD delivery.
• Proven ability to automate operational controls while preserving auditability and safety.
• Experience with incident response, post‑incident analysis and translating lessons into reliability improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
