Cloud Platform Engineer (Azure/AWS) - Remote

About the role

A partner company is looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer based in Switzerland to design, build and operate scalable cloud infrastructure that enables AI applications, intelligent agents and data products to move from prototype to production. The role sits within a central AI team supporting a major international logistics organization, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure and exposure to AWS. It is fully remote.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain cloud-native infrastructure for AI applications, intelligent agents, APIs, data pipelines and data products, mainly on Azure and where needed on AWS.
• Develop reusable infrastructure-as-code modules, deployment templates and observability patterns.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, secrets management and cloud cost controls.
• Contribute to cloud architecture for AI-powered workflows, agentic systems, event-driven services and modern data platforms.
• Implement cloud security standards covering identity and access management, encryption, resilience and secure configuration.
• Set up monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting and operational practices to improve availability, performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate with country-level IT teams and cross-functional stakeholders to onboard environments, resolve deployment issues and scale use cases internationally.
• Support the move of AI and data solutions from development to secure, scalable production environments, applying DevSecOps, platform engineering and SRE principles.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.

Required profile

• Proven hands-on experience developing, deploying and operating cloud-native applications and infrastructure, ideally with strong Azure expertise and practical AWS exposure.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL; TypeScript familiarity is an advantage.
• Understanding of data engineering fundamentals (ETL, data pipelines, storage, integrations).
• Knowledge of cloud architecture, distributed systems, API-based services and event-driven design.
• Experience with cross-functional, geographically distributed teams and fluent English.
• Comfortable using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor.

Required skills

• Infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, container technologies, cloud automation, monitoring and logging.
• Cloud security best practices (identity management, access controls, encryption).
• Advantageous: Snowflake, Azure AI Foundry, LangChain, MCP, DevSecOps, SRE, Azure or AWS certifications, frontend/internal developer portal experience.
