CNC Technician - Milling

About the role

VAT, a global supplier of high-performance vacuum valves headquartered in Haag, Switzerland, is looking for a CNC Technician - Milling. The role is responsible for independently manufacturing precision components on 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines, while meeting the highest standards of quality, safety and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Independently set up, operate and monitor CNC milling machines (3-axis and 5-axis)
• Create, modify and optimise CNC programmes using Siemens control systems
• Manufacture individual parts and small to medium production batches from technical drawings
• Select, prepare and change cutting tools
• Monitor processes and ensure dimensional and geometric accuracy
• Carry out quality inspections with standard measuring equipment
• Perform routine machine maintenance and handle minor malfunctions
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and delivery standards and contribute to continuous improvement of processes

Required profile

• Completed apprenticeship or technical training as a Polymechanic, CNC Machinist, Machining Technician or comparable qualification
• Several years of experience in CNC milling is an advantage
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Independent, precise and reliable; strong quality awareness and sense of responsibility
• Team player with a flexible approach, willing to work in shifts (2-shift or 3-shift)

Required skills

• CNC milling on 3-axis and 5-axis machines
• CNC programming, preferably with Siemens control systems
• Quality inspection with standard measuring equipment
