CNC Technician – Milling & Programming

About the role

Join VAT Group’s manufacturing team in Haag, Switzerland, as a CNC Technician. You will operate and program 3‑axis and 5‑axis CNC milling machines to produce high‑precision vacuum valve components.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC milling machines (3‑axis/5‑axis) independently.
• Program and optimise CNC programs using Siemens control systems.
• Manufacture individual parts and small‑to‑medium batches from technical drawings.
• Select, prepare, and change tools, and perform quality inspections with standard measuring equipment.
• Maintain and service machines, troubleshoot minor faults, and ensure safety, quality, and delivery standards.

Required profile

• Completed training as a Polymechanic, CNC Machinist, Machining Technician or equivalent.
• Several years of experience in CNC milling (advantageous).
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Independent, precise, reliable work style with high quality awareness.
• Team‑oriented, flexible and willing to work in shifts.

Required skills

• CNC milling operation (3‑axis/5‑axis).

• Tool selection and changeover.
• Use of standard measuring equipment for quality inspection.
• Basic machine maintenance and fault troubleshooting.
