Commercial Counsel

About the role

Foodsmart is seeking a Commercial Counsel to draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including agreements with health plans, health systems, and vendors. The role will act as a thought partner across teams, contributing to both legal and business aspects while improving contracting efficiency through technology.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and complex multi‑component deals.
• Provide legal counsel on contractual obligations, risk mitigation, and compliance with laws and company policies.
• Build processes, improve contracting efficiency, and update contract templates based on legal developments.
• Collaborate with internal teams for effective vendor contract management and support corporate transactions.
• Train stakeholders on contract‑related legal risks and develop best‑practice templates.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a top‑tier law school.
• Admission to the state bar where you reside.
• 4–6+ years of legal experience, preferably in transactional and healthcare settings.
• Stellar contract drafting skills.
