Commissioning Manager

About the role

The Commissioning Manager will lead all commissioning activities for Mercury’s complex engineering and construction projects in Zurich, ensuring that mechanical and electrical systems are installed, tested, and handed over to the client in line with European standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, manage and close out the commissioning plan for each project.
• Lead and supervise on‑site commissioning and testing personnel.
• Chair weekly commissioning meetings with the general contractor, client and internal teams.
• Develop and maintain the project commissioning schedule in coordination with planners and other trades.
• Manage lock‑out/tag‑out processes, area control permits and safety procedures.
• Compile, verify and sign off all testing and commissioning documentation.
• Track labour allocation, costs, material deliveries and equipment variations.
• Ensure timely closure of commissioning snags and produce weekly progress reports.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering with at least 5 years of commissioning management experience on large‑scale industrial projects.
• Ability to travel freely across the EU and work on multiple European sites.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems typical for data centres and familiarity with European building regulations.
• Excellent organisational, communication and reporting skills.
