Commodity Buyer – Metal Components

About the role

We are seeking a Commodity Buyer specialized in metal components to join a leading international industrial company. You will be responsible for shaping the sourcing strategy, managing a global supplier base, and driving cost‑effective solutions throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement sourcing strategies for metal components.
• Develop and maintain an international supplier portfolio with focus on competitiveness, quality and delivery.
• Lead supplier selection, RFQs, commercial negotiations and contract management.
• Drive cost‑reduction, value‑engineering and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Project teams.
• Monitor supplier performance and execute corrective actions when needed.
• Support new‑product development and industrialisation from a procurement perspective.
• Identify and mitigate supply‑chain risks to ensure business continuity.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of strategic procurement experience with metal components (castings, forgings, machined parts, fabricated components).
• Background in demanding industrial sectors such as aerospace, automotive, railway or similar.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Fluent English; additional European languages are a plus.
