Communications Consultant – Editorial (Remote, 1.5 months)

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking an experienced Communications Consultant to provide editorial support for five upcoming publications. This is a remote, contract‑based assignment lasting approximately 1.5 months.

Key responsibilities

• Edit and proofread five UNEP Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) publications to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to UNEP style guidelines.
• Collaborate with authors, subject‑matter experts, and project managers to incorporate feedback and resolve content issues.
• Maintain version control and track changes using standard document‑editing tools.
• Deliver finalized documents within agreed timelines and quality standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in editorial work, preferably for international or sustainability‑focused organisations.
• Excellent command of written English with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with remote teams.

Required skills

• Editing and proofreading of English‑language documents.
• Familiarity with standard word‑processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word, track‑changes functionality).
