Compliance Officer – Private Banking

About the role

As a Compliance Officer in Private Banking, you will safeguard the bank’s reputation by overseeing high‑risk client onboarding and ensuring adherence to anti‑money‑laundering and regulatory standards. You will work closely with relationship managers and senior stakeholders to embed a strong compliance culture across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑risk client onboarding reviews, performing detailed KYC and financial‑crime risk assessments.
• Support relationship managers and senior management in implementing, advising on, and supervising compliance matters.
• Lead AML investigations and handle serious non‑compliance cases.
• Review and update local policies and procedures as required.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent compliance practices.
• Promote a compliance‑first mindset among employees and provide training on AML and related topics.
• Assist with compliance projects and follow‑up on internal and regulatory audit findings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law, economics, business administration or a related banking discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in client onboarding, audit or compliance functions.
• Strong knowledge of the Swiss regulatory environment, especially AML regulations.
• Familiarity with emerging markets (Middle East, Africa, NRI) and/or Asia.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
