Computer Vision and Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Computer Vision and Machine Learning Engineer to strengthen the perception capabilities of our fully autonomous drone‑in‑a‑box system. You will join a small, CV/ML‑focused team and help move algorithms and models from prototype to field deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop computer vision and machine learning features for real‑time UAV applications.
• Train, fine‑tune and evaluate deep learning models for object detection, semantic segmentation, image retrieval/re‑identification.
• Optimize algorithms and models for edge devices such as NVIDIA Jetson and Qualcomm Dragonwing and integrate them into image and video pipelines.
• Monitor model performance in real‑world deployments and set up continuous‑improvement workflows (data collection, curation, labeling, retraining, evaluation).
• Integrate large/vision language models and design queries for scene understanding, situational awareness and hazard analysis.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong understanding of computer vision and machine learning fundamentals.
• Good oral and written English skills and a valid work permit for Switzerland.

Required skills

• Programming: Python, C++.
• Frameworks: PyTorch or TensorFlow, OpenCV, ROS/ROS2, CUDA, TensorRT.
• Experience with end‑to‑end model development and edge‑device optimization.
• Familiarity with transformers, large/vision language models and prompt design (a plus).
• Knowledge of GStreamer pipelines and custom plugin development (a plus).
• Experience with Qualcomm edge devices and CV/ML SDKs (a plus).
