Credit Risk Sanctioner (VP)

About the role

Barclays Bank (Suisse) SA is seeking an experienced Credit Risk Sanctioner at Vice‑President level to support sound credit decision‑making and business growth while protecting the bank’s risk profile. You will work on a diverse portfolio of high‑net‑worth, corporate and institutional clients within the Swiss private banking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse lending applications, financial statements, credit reports and related documents to assess borrower creditworthiness and repayment capacity.
• Monitor the performance of the Swiss credit portfolio, identify potential risks and early warning signs of default.
• Provide independent credit decisions in line with established policies, risk parameters and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement actions for troubled lending, including workout plans, restructuring or collections.
• Collaborate with Credit Structuring, Front Office, Legal and Operations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in credit risk management and sanctioning within a private banking environment.
• Strong understanding of banking products, client behaviours and market dynamics in Swiss private banking.
• Stakeholder management and leadership abilities to influence senior partners and drive outcomes.

Required skills

• Knowledge of mortgage lending business in Switzerland, the UK and France (including Monaco).
• Experience with credit risk sanctioning and portfolio monitoring.
