Cross-Line of Business Underwriting Product Owner (80-100%)

About the role

Zurich is looking for an experienced and influential Cross-Line of Business (LoB) Underwriting Product Owner to shape its underwriting platforms, including Neo Pre-Bind and Z-Horizon+. This is a high-impact role at the centre of underwriting transformation, giving clear business ownership, prioritisation and decision-making across multiple Lines of Business, segments and geographies. The role applies the CAPDAN principle (Common as Possible, Different as Needed) so that common underwriting capabilities are designed once and reused.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain the cross-LOB underwriting vision and drive business strategy for future priorities, including the Neo Pre-Bind and Z-Horizon+ roadmaps, considering today's needs and the evolution of tools such as AI.
• Give clear business direction and prioritisation to Business Analysts, delivery teams, platform teams and change stakeholders.
• Apply CAPDAN consistently so that common underwriting capabilities are standardised and reused.
• Align senior stakeholders across Group, Business Units, Lines of Business and underwriting communities, and manage competing priorities and conflicting local versus enterprise requirements.
• Shape and prioritise the cross-LOB underwriting backlog, and work with post-bind, operations, technology and change teams for an aligned end-to-end underwriting journey.
• Own the business case, investment prioritisation and tracking of benefits and value realisation, and champion adoption of delivered capabilities in daily underwriting practice.

Required profile

• Strong experience of underwriting processes, ideally across multiple Lines of Business, segments or business units.
• Proven ability to act as a Product Owner, business lead or transformation owner in a complex change environment.
• Experience shaping product roadmaps, prioritising backlogs and working with business, technology and delivery teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and the confidence to influence and align senior leaders.
• Strong judgement and decision-making in ambiguous or time-sensitive situations.
• Experience across levels (including C-suite) in large, international or matrixed organisations is an advantage; professional underwriting qualifications or product, agile or change delivery certifications are beneficial.
