Cyber Security Engineer (Hybrid, Permanent)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join a Swiss‑based, internationally operating company. This newly created position offers full technical ownership of the security infrastructure, allowing you to design, implement and continuously improve critical security solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of the company’s security infrastructure.
• Handle security incidents from analysis and containment through remediation and post‑incident review.
• Build and operate central security systems such as log servers, SIEM platforms and vulnerability scanners.
• Identify and remediate vulnerabilities across the IT environment.
• Coordinate the external Security Operations Center from a technical perspective.
• Collaborate with the CISO, network, infrastructure, engineering and production teams.
• Develop technical security concepts and implement new solutions.
• Contribute to the development of OT and industrial security.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in cyber security engineering or a comparable technical role.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Linux server environments.
• Proven ability to build and operate security infrastructure.
• Fluent German (C1) and good English (B2) communication skills.

• Linux server administration.

• Authentication systems and EDR solutions.
• Security incident response.
• Network fundamentals, server hardening and access control.
• Knowledge of OT/ICS or industrial security (advantage).
