Cybersecurity Software Architect

About the role

Embotech is looking for a Cybersecurity Software Architect to join its engineering team in Zurich. You will be responsible for designing and strengthening the security of Linux‑based, virtualised systems that support autonomous‑vehicle data platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Own the security architecture of Embotech solutions and ensure compliance with cybersecurity requirements.
• Collaborate with the security risk manager and system teams to design, review and implement secure boot, TPM integration, secure software‑update mechanisms and authentication solutions.
• Participate in threat modelling, risk analysis and security‑by‑design practices across the development lifecycle.
• Provide expert guidance on emerging cyber risks, act as a sounding board for cross‑functional teams, and support intrusion detection, SIEM and vulnerability‑management processes.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience as a Cybersecurity Software Architect.
• Deep knowledge of Linux server environments and containerisation/virtualisation technologies.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work with software, hardware and safety engineers.

• Device authentication protocols (PKI, certificates, tokens)
• SSH hardening and secure remote access
• Cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Intrusion detection/prevention systems or SIEM tools
• Vulnerability management and security monitoring
• Knowledge of IEC 62443 or ISO 21434 standards
