Data Operations Specialist - Investment Data

About the role

Join Zurich’s investment data team as a Data Operations Specialist and help shape the data foundation that drives investment decisions. You will work closely with a small, supportive team to maintain and enhance a modern data warehouse in Azure.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and develop the investment data warehouse on SQL Server, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Monitor and troubleshoot daily data pipelines in Azure Data Factory and related cloud tools.
• Apply automated data‑quality frameworks, investigate discrepancies, and resolve them systematically.
• Perform data reconciliation, resolve operational issues, and support users with query optimisation and data‑consistency checks.
• Document technical processes and create dashboards to track data‑quality metrics.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in data operations, BI support or data‑warehouse administration in a production environment.
• Experience monitoring daily data loads, handling incidents, and coordinating with business users.
• Domain knowledge of financial services, especially investment data such as securities, issuers, portfolios and holdings.

Required skills

• Strong SQL skills for validation, performance tuning and issue resolution.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Factory (pipeline monitoring, job rerun, log analysis).
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms like Databricks or Microsoft Fabric.
• Python scripting for automation (R is a nice‑to‑have).
• Power BI proficiency for building and maintaining semantic models and dashboards.
