Design Office Assistant Intern - Womenswear

About the role

The Design Office Assistant Intern supports the development of all design activities for womenswear lines and helps present the lines to merchants and sales teams during adoption and proto reviews. The role works closely with the Woman Designer Team and partners with the Head of Designer.

Key responsibilities

• Search seasonal women's design trends and research fabrics and body styles
• Implement garment work sheets, mood boards and color cards, and sketch and render new styles according to the collection structure
• Collaborate with Design, Merchandising, Production and Technical Design teams on design proposals
• Support the design process from concept to completion, aligned with the Head of Designer
• Produce technical sheets, graphics, season books and drawings
• Check samples and fittings in the office, and support exhibitions, fashion shows, technical presentations and lookbooks

Required profile

• Bachelor degree or diploma in Fashion and/or Design Arts
• Strong understanding of fashion products, style and graphic trends, and a clear grasp of the Guess brand DNA
• Able to handle several tasks and projects while meeting deadlines and the design calendar
• Natural attitude, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a dynamic, fast-thinking personality

Required skills

• Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are mandatory
• Extensive computer experience in other graphic programs is a plus
