Deviation Specialist – Life Sciences (Visp, Switzerland)

About the role

Fortil is seeking a Deviation Specialist to join its Life Sciences team in Visp, Switzerland. You will work full‑time onsite in a cGMP‑regulated manufacturing environment, investigating deviations and ensuring product quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Own, author, document and investigate deviations arising in a cGMP manufacturing setting.
• Collaborate with subject‑matter experts and stakeholders to identify root causes and contributing factors.
• Assess the impact of deviations on products, processes and systems.
• Apply structured investigation tools such as Fault Tree Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, Event and Causal Factors Chart, and Defence Analysis.
• Define corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify their effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate quality records and ensure timely completion of investigations.
• Support change management, process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare clear technical documentation and communicate findings to relevant parties.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biotechnology, life sciences or a related field.
• Experience managing deviation investigations in a regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology or API manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of cGMP requirements and quality systems.
• Fluent English (written and spoken); German is a plus.
• Structured, proactive working style with the ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
