DevOps Engineer - Blockchain Infrastructure

About the role

A partner company is recruiting a DevOps Engineer for blockchain infrastructure, based in Switzerland. The team builds secure, reliable and scalable systems for privacy-preserving applications, operates and scales blockchain networks, manages validator infrastructure and strengthens production reliability across multi-cloud and bare-metal platforms. The role contributes to moving from a federated validator model toward a fully decentralised network.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain critical blockchain infrastructure with a target of 99.99% uptime, identify reliability risks and improve availability and performance
• Take part in the on-call rotation, troubleshoot production incidents, resolve issues and write blameless post-mortems
• Manage, maintain and automate validator nodes across multi-cloud and bare-metal environments
• Help move toward a decentralised network by improving onboarding and deployment templates for Foundation Node Operators and future Stake Pool Operators
• Build, maintain and improve open-source tools for infrastructure management, deployment and automation
• Identify vulnerabilities, improve security controls and fix infrastructure bottlenecks
• Design and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and other automation tools
• Develop telemetry, remote monitoring and ETL dashboards for infrastructure health
• Build and configure development, testing and mainnet environments, and coordinate with engineering teams and infrastructure partners

Required profile

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE or infrastructure engineering, including at least 1 year with blockchain infrastructure
• Practical experience running blockchain nodes, validator infrastructure or comparable distributed systems in production
• Ability to work remotely from an eligible location in Asia, Europe or Latin America, with 1-2 hours of daily overlap with US or EU time zones
• Flexible schedule, either Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday, plus participation in an on-call rotation

Required skills

• Strong Linux administration and containerisation, including Kubernetes
• Grafana, Prometheus or similar monitoring platforms
• Shell scripting and at least one language such as Rust, Go or Python
• Cloud configuration and optimisation, ideally AWS and Google Cloud
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and/or OpenTofu
• CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Jenkins or equivalent
• Nice to have: GitOps, Nix, experience in a small fast-paced tech company
