DevOps Engineer

About the role

FORFIRM is seeking a Middle DevOps Engineer to join its international team and work on complex infrastructure projects for Swiss and European clients. The role requires strong hands‑on experience with large‑scale UNIX and Linux environments, middleware, container orchestration and infrastructure automation.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and administer IBM WebSphere, Open Liberty and related middleware across development, test and production environments.
• Design, implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Ansible and Terraform, and develop automation scripts in Bash and Python.
• Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters in production and non‑production settings.
• Engineer robust UNIX‑based systems, manage TCP/IP networking, and resolve performance bottlenecks.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of engineering and administration experience in large‑scale UNIX (AIX a plus) and Linux (RHEL, Debian) environments.
• Strong Bash and Python scripting skills and proven ability to extend automation solutions.
• Excellent English and Italian communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities and mentor colleagues.
