Director, Global Clinical Physician

About the role

The Global Clinical Physician leads medical accountability and oversight for clinical trials across Phase 1‑3 within Bristol Myers Squibb’s Clinical Development organization. Reporting to senior leadership, this role partners with cross‑functional teams to design, execute, and interpret studies that advance innovative therapies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide medical monitoring and data review for trial eligibility and safety.
• Lead site interactions together with Global Clinical Scientists, addressing medical questions and education.
• Assess serious adverse events, coordinate with Worldwide Patient Safety, and oversee safety narratives.
• Contribute to protocol development, offering strategic input on inclusion/exclusion criteria and safety considerations.
• Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and maintain required training.
• Design clinical plans and protocols aligned with asset, disease, and regulatory strategies.
• Oversee a portfolio of studies, leading benefit‑risk analyses in a matrix environment.
• Collaborate with Global Clinical Development Lead and Global Clinical Scientists to drive study delivery.

Required profile

• Medical degree with board certification and extensive experience in Phase 1‑3 clinical trials.
• Proven decision‑making ability and experience managing matrixed teams.
• Strong knowledge of drug development, regulatory requirements, and safety management.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with sites, internal partners, and external stakeholders.
