Director, Group Accounting & Reporting – Accounting Policies

About the role

The Director, Group Accounting & Reporting – Accounting Policies leads the Group’s accounting policy agenda, ensuring high‑quality financial reporting, technical accounting compliance and consistent IFRS application across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Group’s senior IFRS technical expert, developing, interpreting and maintaining accounting policies.
• Develop, implement and maintain Group accounting policies, reporting guidelines and best practices.
• Prepare accounting position papers, implementation guidance and monitor emerging IFRS developments.
• Partner with regional finance teams, consolidation function and cross‑functional stakeholders to embed new policies into day‑to‑day operations.
• Build strong relationships, provide training, and ensure policy compliance through monitoring mechanisms.
• Support transformation initiatives, system enhancements and provide analytical insights for senior management.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a Big 4 or multinational listed company.
• University degree in accounting with a professional qualification (CA, ACCA or CPA).
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS technical accounting and experience with external reporting for a listed entity.
• Proven ability to work in a matrix, multi‑country environment and drive process improvements.
• Fluent English (additional languages a plus).
