Director KOL Management - 100% - Permanent Position

About the role

The Director KOL Management will lead the development, maintenance and expansion of an international network of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and reference centres. Reporting to senior management, the role combines strategic planning with hands‑on relationship management across the ophthalmic field.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and grow a global KOL and reference centre network.
• Engage KOLs actively, ensuring strong loyalty to the company’s products.
• Identify and develop physicians as speakers for events and podium presentations.
• Plan, organise and manage visits with KOLs at training centres, production sites and headquarters in Switzerland.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing and Clinical & Medical Affairs teams.
• Support marketing and sales initiatives, including contract handling, CRM upkeep and activity reporting.
• Co‑design and evolve a global KOL management strategy.
• Coordinate and lead regional KOL managers.

Required profile

• University degree (University of Applied Sciences or university) in Marketing or a scientific field with additional marketing training.
• Several years of experience in ophthalmology, optometry or medical technology.
• Deep knowledge of the ophthalmic environment and confidence interacting with medical specialists.
• Strong communication, persuasive personality and high social competence.
• Structured, cross‑functional working style with intercultural competence.
• Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 40‑60%).
• Fluent in German and English; additional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Experience with CRM systems, preferably HubSpot.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
