Embedded Software Team Leader

About the role

We are seeking an Embedded Software Team Leader to drive the development of safety‑critical embedded solutions for medical technology and industrial customers. The role combines hands‑on C/C++ programming with people leadership, ensuring high‑quality delivery in a regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop embedded software in C/C++ for customer projects, adhering to IEC 62304 and other relevant standards.
• Lead, coach and support the professional growth of the software development team.
• Plan, prioritize and coordinate development resources together with project managers.
• Implement hardware‑related software on various processor architectures, RTOS platforms and frameworks.
• Drive continuous improvement of development methods, engineering processes and workflows.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, development processes and project requirements.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, system engineers, software architects and other engineering disciplines.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical field.
• Several years of professional experience in embedded software development.
• Proven experience in team leadership, people management, coaching or mentoring.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate team members.
• Fluent German/Swiss‑German and C1‑level English.

Required skills

• C and C++ programming.

• Experience with various processor architectures.
• Knowledge of IEC 62304 for medical‑device software.
• Familiarity with ISO 13485 quality management standards.
