Emergency Specialist – Standby Partnerships (P-3)

About the role

The Emergency Specialist (Standby Partners) provides strategic and operational leadership for UNICEF’s Standby Partnership modality. Based in the Office of Emergency Operations, the role ensures that standby arrangements are responsive, scalable, and aligned with evolving humanitarian contexts.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and governance of standby partnership arrangements.
• Coordinate surge capacity deployments and ensure timely, fit‑for‑purpose support to UNICEF offices.
• Analyse data and produce reports to inform decision‑making and improve partnership performance.
• Support the Chief of Section in engagement with standby partners, UN agencies, NGOs and member states.
• Drive capacity‑building initiatives for internal teams on partnership processes.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in social science, humanitarian operations, international relations or related fields.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in personnel administration, programme/operation support or coordination roles.
• Demonstrated experience in partnership development and humanitarian contexts.
• Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
