Equipment Engineer – 18-Month Contract

About the role

Medtronic, a global healthcare technology company, is looking for an Equipment Engineer for an 18-month contract at its Swiss site, which manufactures high-quality medical devices. The engineer supports the performance, reliability and continuous improvement of equipment and production processes, and contributes to projects that improve equipment reliability, performance and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Support projects to improve equipment reliability, efficiency and compliance
• Collaborate with external equipment vendors and suppliers on procurement, installation and qualification
• Contribute to equipment replacement and retrofit initiatives
• Work with maintenance teams on preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
• Carry out equipment acquisition, characterization, installation, qualification and validation
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards such as FDA, ISO and GMP
• Support change control and validation activities with quality and regulatory teams
• Provide technical support and training to production and maintenance teams
• Use root cause analysis tools (FMEA, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams) and take part in investigations of equipment failures and deviations, supporting CAPA

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing or related field)
• Several years of experience in equipment engineering within a manufacturing environment
• Experience with equipment life cycle management, maintenance programs and reliability improvement
• Experience supporting equipment improvement, replacement, qualification or validation projects
• Project coordination experience and strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Required skills

• Good understanding of equipment qualification and validation processes
• Familiarity with change control procedures and regulatory requirements in manufacturing
• Ability to troubleshoot technical equipment issues and work with vendors, suppliers and cross-functional teams
