eTrade Initiatives Section Intern

About the role

The eTrade Initiatives Section at UNCTAD seeks a motivated intern to support its work on inclusive digital economies and women’s digital entrepreneurship. This full‑time, unpaid position is based in Geneva and runs for four months starting 3 August 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and organizing capacity‑building initiatives that empower women digital entrepreneurs from the Global South.
• Draft inputs for analytical studies, policy briefs and presentations on women and digital entrepreneurship.
• Support the organization of a workshop on empowering women entrepreneurs in e‑commerce and digital businesses in China.
• Prepare and edit documents, presentations, and project materials as required.
• Proofread, edit and translate documents and reports for various stakeholders.
• Help coordinate briefings, meetings and communication‑related materials such as news items, web content and social media posts.
• Communicate with workshop participants and relevant Chinese stakeholders.
• Provide general support to the Section’s activities.

Required profile

• University student or recent graduate with interest in digital economies and gender equality.
• Ability to work five days per week (40 hours) on‑site in Geneva.
• Valid visa for Switzerland and capacity to cover travel, accommodation, medical insurance and living expenses.
• Strong written communication skills in English; additional language skills are a plus.
