Event Design and Stakeholder Engagement Consultant

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking an experienced consultant to design and deliver high‑impact events and stakeholder engagement activities for its Supply Chains Integrated Programme and the Global Chemicals and Materials Programme (GCMP). The role is remote, full‑time for six months, and will support regional and country‑level projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies, action plans, and harmonised frameworks for the Supply Chains Integrated Programme and GCMP.
• Design, organise and facilitate stakeholder consultations, workshops, multi‑stakeholder dialogues and other events.
• Establish and strengthen strategic partnerships, stakeholder networks and coordination mechanisms to promote collaboration and knowledge exchange.
• Provide technical guidance on stakeholder engagement while coordinating with communications, knowledge‑management and gender experts.
• Monitor, evaluate and document engagement activities, capture lessons learned and prepare reports with recommendations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in designing and managing stakeholder engagement processes and events, preferably in an international or multilateral context.
• Strong understanding of environmental, sustainability or chemicals‑management programmes.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills, with ability to synthesize outcomes into actionable recommendations.
• Ability to work independently, remotely and collaborate across diverse teams and regions.
