Event Planning Internship – Geneva Environment Network

About the role

The Geneva Environment Network Secretariat is seeking an intern to support event planning, outreach and digital communication activities. Working under the Network Coordinator, you will gain hands‑on experience in organizing hybrid meetings, managing social media channels and assisting with the preparation of conferences and delegations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in launching and developing environmental information and public‑awareness activities, including outreach meetings and material preparation.
• Support the organization of hybrid meetings by overseeing logistics, preparing invitations, summaries and related documents.
• Manage the Network’s digital and social‑media accounts (Facebook, X, BlueSky, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube).
• Maintain the calendar of events and update the website as needed.
• Contribute to the weekly newsletter, conference support and coordination of visits for students and country delegations.
• Provide day‑to‑day administrative assistance to the secretariat.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or having completed the final year of a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD programme.
• Good knowledge of standard office software (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams) and Canva.
