Facility and Safety Support Technician – ATLAS

About the role
As a Facility and Safety Support Technician you will support the ATLAS experiment at CERN during the Long Shutdown 3 (2026‑2030). Working within the ATLAS Technical Coordination team, you will ensure smooth installation activities by handling waste, logistics and occupational‑safety tasks on both surface and underground sites.
Key responsibilities
- Manage waste streams, organise skip containers and support equipment removal and sorting.
- Provide packaging materials, arrange transport and oversee temporary storage for consolidation projects.
- Conduct safety tours, report observations, implement corrective actions and inspect safety equipment.
- Perform shifts in the ATLAS control room and carry out scaffolding inspections in the experimental area.
- Offer technical assistance to the ATLAS Safety and Infrastructure teams.
Required profile
- Technical certificate, secondary education or equivalent experience in electromechanics, logistics or safety.
- Proven experience in facility management, on‑site logistics and occupational‑safety practices.
- Hands‑on experience with maintenance and assembly of electromechanical systems.
- Strong motivation to contribute to the ATLAS facility operation.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
