Field Engineer – Python, Edge AI & Robotics

About the role

Join an early‑stage AI and robotics startup as a Forward Deployed Engineer, working on‑site in Zürich and travelling to customer locations across Switzerland and Europe. You will lead end‑to‑end deployments, turning Python code and edge AI solutions into reliable security systems for industrial and critical infrastructure sites.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys, hardware planning, installation, integration, testing and handover for each customer deployment.
• Deploy and operate software on NVIDIA edge hardware, integrate cameras, sensors, video‑management systems and robots in restricted or air‑gapped networks.
• Debug across hardware, networking, drivers, AI models and configuration; tune detection and tracking for real‑world conditions.
• Train operators, build trusted relationships with frontline users and site leadership, and create runbooks and automation tools.
• Feed field insights back to the engineering team to influence product priorities.

Required profile

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with strong Python and solid Linux fundamentals.
• Hands‑on experience deploying and operating software on‑premises or at the edge.
• Fluent German and good English, with willingness to travel ~50% of the time.
• Ability to communicate clearly with operators and senior stakeholders and investigate unfamiliar technical problems.
