Finance Business Controller - Advantec

About the role

SHL Medical, a manufacturer of self-injection devices, is hiring a Finance Business Controller for its Advantec business unit in Taiwan. The role is the main FP&A and business-partnering contact for the Automation and Tooling business, turning financial and operational data into decision support for management. It oversees a team of 4 FTE and works with local FP&A, accounting, project management, operations, commercial, HR, tax and IT stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Advise Advantec management on profitability, cost, cash, capacity and investment decisions, and support entity integration, make-or-buy and restructuring decisions.
• Run the monthly reporting cycle (actuals, variances, forecasts, commentary) and coordinate annual budget and periodic forecast cycles.
• Monitor project portfolio performance, including cost-to-complete, milestone billing and unbilled positions, and run monthly project data-quality checks.
• Support manufacturing performance insights (material and labor variances, standard costing, absorption) and coordinate CAPEX planning and reviews.
• Drive working-capital management (receivables, inventory, WIP, advances) and quotation, margin and intercompany pricing analyses.
• Standardize FP&A and month-end processes and build reporting tools in SAP, Excel/Power Query and Power BI.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in FP&A, business controlling, project controlling or manufacturing finance, including a business or multi-entity perimeter.
• Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, monthly performance management and management reporting in an international setting.
• Experience in manufacturing or engineering finance (cost centers, activity rates, utilization, absorption, standard costing).
• Proven leadership capability, ideally leading international teams, and fluency in English.
• Preferred: university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Industrial Engineering, German fluency, and experience leading cross-functional initiatives.

Required skills

• SAP FI/CO and PS, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or SAP BW, or equivalent BI systems.
• Excel/Power Query and Power BI or an equivalent BI platform.
• Project costing and percentage-of-completion accounting.
